About Fervo Energy

Fervo Energy (NASDAQ: FRVO) is a modern power company developing next-generation geothermal resources to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable, 24/7 carbon-free energy. Our mission is to transform geothermal into America’s most dependable and affordable source of clean, around-the-clock power. By combining innovations in horizontal drilling, fiber-optic sensing, and advanced reservoir engineering, Fervo has developed a repeatable approach to building utility-scale enhanced geothermal systems. Our flagship Cape Station development in Utah is planned to deliver 500 MW of firm, carbon-free power, and we are advancing a development pipeline of more than 50 GW. Join us and work alongside world-class engineers, geoscientists, operators, project builders, and business leaders working to make geothermal a cornerstone of a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future.

Position Description

Fervo Energy is the world’s leading developer of enhanced geothermal systems, delivering firm, carbon free power 24/7. Fervo is scaling rapidly across the U.S. to meet growing demand from utilities, industrials, and data centers for clean, dispatchable electricity. Every Fervo power plant is built from a set of major equipment packages: turbines and ORC skids, air cooled condensers, heat exchangers, pumps, and the balance of plant that ties them together. Buying that equipment well, on time and at the right price, is one of the biggest levers we have on the cost and schedule of every plant we build.

As Supply Chain Specialist, Power Plant, you will own procurement for a portfolio of major equipment categories. Fervo buys this equipment directly from manufacturers. You will help set the strategy for how we buy each category, and you will run the packages yourself from first market engagement through contract and PO. This is a strategy role as much as a hands on procurement role. You will work closely with supply chain, engineering, and construction leadership on how equipment decisions affect cost, schedule, and plant performance.

You will report to the Supply Chain Manager, Power. This is an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

Category strategy

  • Build category strategies for major plant equipment, including turbines, air-cooled condensers, heat exchangers, and pumps. Strategies will include which manufacturers we qualify, how we keep each category competitive, how much shop capacity we reserve, and when we use frame agreements instead of buying plant by plant.
  • Grow a competitive supply base, including manufacturers that are new to geothermal or power generation.
  • Track the market, including manufacturer backlogs and shop capacity, raw material pricing, lead times on key components, consolidation among suppliers, and competing demand from data centers and other industries.
  • Build should cost models for major equipment so we know what a fair price looks like before bids come in.

Specifications, technical, and construction

  • Work with engineering to understand how design choices drive cost, lead time, plant performance, and the number of suppliers that can bid. Push for standard designs where they open up competition or shorten lead times.
  • Build quality requirements, such as inspection and test plans, factory acceptance testing, code documentation, and shop inspections, into RFQs so they are priced up front.
  • Build tariff and domestic content requirements into sourcing decisions.

Market to Contract

  • Own equipment packages from market engagement through award: prequalification, RFQ, technical and commercial bid evaluation, negotiation, and PO.
  • Write RFQs that produce comparable bids, including a common technical and performance basis, clear scope splits between packages, defined interfaces, and when lead time starts.
  • Negotiate commercial terms including price basis and escalation, lead time and capacity commitments, payment milestones, delivery sequencing, warranty, cancellation terms, and liquidated damages for delay and for performance shortfalls.
  • Negotiate performance guarantees, such as output, efficiency, and noise, and agree up front on how they will be tested in the field.
  • Manage contracts after award, including tracking supplier progress and deliveries against schedule, handling change orders and claims, and maintaining long term relationships with vendors.

Qualifications

Required

At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a procurement role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal previous roles could include a buyer or category manager at a manufacturer, a manufacturing or quality engineer who worked closely with suppliers, a production planner who managed vendor lead times, or a commercial or estimating role at an equipment maker.

Power industry experience is not required. What matters most is that you understand how equipment gets designed, fabricated, priced, and scheduled, and that you can learn a new industry quickly. Strong candidates will also have several of the following:

  • A working understanding of how manufacturers fabricate, price, and schedule their work, and what drives their lead times.
  • Experience buying, selling, or estimating fabricated or engineered equipment, such as heat exchangers, pumps, skids, pressure vessels, or rotating equipment.
  • The ability to read drawings, datasheets, and specifications and explain how a design choice changes cost and lead time.
  • Experience running a competitive bid process and negotiating directly with suppliers.
  • Comfort building a strategy, defending it to leadership with data, and then running the RFQ yourself.

Preferred

  • Experience on power generation or other large industrial projects.
  • Experience with turbines, air cooled condensers, heat exchangers, or pumps.
  • Exposure to field construction and how equipment gets installed on site.
  • Experience negotiating frame agreements or buying for a program of multiple projects.
