How you'll make impact

Help build the next-generation billing platform that supports Airwallex internally and gives customers an easy-to-integrate way to manage billing and revenue workflows.

• Build high-quality products with React and TypeScript, using the latest versions and modern frontend engineering practices.

• Design and develop micro-frontend web applications using domain-based architecture and a single-SPA framework.

• Build scalable, high-performance Node.js backend-for-frontend services with Apollo GraphQL and well-defined contracts for backend integration.

• Partner with Design to develop a shared design system and reusable components, creating a consistent UI and UX across domain teams.

• Deliver NPM packages, reusable library widgets, and open-source projects that make customer integration easier.

• Deploy micro-frontends and Node.js services using GCP, Alibaba Cloud Kubernetes, bucket CDN, Cloudflare, and GitLab CI/CD.

• Build reliable unit and end-to-end test coverage using React Testing Library, test-rendering tools, and Cypress.

• Develop no-code and serverless CMS capabilities for corporate websites and branding landing pages using Contentful and Next.js.

• Engage with the frontend guild, research emerging technologies, drive engineering initiatives, and help reduce technical debt.

What we're looking for

Essentials

• 5+ years of frontend development experience, including 2+ years of frontend architecture experience.

• Experience developing large-scale financial web systems.

• A bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, ECMAScript 6+, and TypeScript.

• Strong experience with React, Vue, Angular, and their surrounding technology stacks.

• Experience with Emotion, styled-components, and SCSS.

• Familiarity with Material UI, Ant Design, Bootstrap 3, or other CSS frameworks.

• Familiarity with HTTP/HTTPS protocols and RESTful API design.

• Experience with Webpack, polyfills, and Rollup.js.

• Experience building backend-for-frontend services with Node.js.

Preferred

• Experience developing frontend frameworks.

• A track record of sharing frontend technical work through blogs, public accounts, or similar channels.

• Overseas study or work experience.

• Experience with GraphQL, Next.js, Redis, and relational databases.

• Experience with tracking and data analytics tools such as GA and GTM.

• Experience with CSS animation, Zeplin, Abstract, responsive mobile web development, UI, or visual identity.

• Experience with BDD, TDD, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Nginx, or other DevOps practices.

• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or Shell development.

The Billing team at Airwallex builds a single platform that charges for everything: how we bill our customers, and how our customers bill theirs. We own the quote-to-cash engine behind Airwallex's fastest-growing revenue stream, from usage-based billing and pricing to the checkout experience that collects across 130+ currencies and 160+ payment methods. The hard part: one system serves two masters, Airwallex's own books and the revenue of every business that bills through us, so every number has to reconcile to the cent, in real time, under audit scrutiny.
